Yup, according to the thread he was arrested in March 2019 for failure to appear on Felony charge. (Released on 35k bond) And convicted of Felony Hit and Run in July, sentenced to 24 months probation. Talk about getting away with murder.
And, in his 2016 mugshot, that sure looks like a black eye.
I do wonder if he has some other … issues. Particularly since he was turned in by his in-laws. Who reportedly do not have major philosophical differences with his racial viewpoints.

re: #12 Charles Johnson
Posted in the last thread, but apropos of the issues around the server, there’s enough evidence here to indicate a conspiracy to break multiple laws since you can’t just take information from the server that these call readouts are placed on and move them to the NICE server without having tech services involved who would have to do a cleanup and be authorized to move the item. From PBS:
Like most presidential calls with foreign leaders, the Trump-Zelenskiy call was put into the T-Net system where certain individuals are granted permission to read it based on their need to know, according to two individuals with direct knowledge of the system. NSC officials working on African issues, for example, would not routinely have been given access to the Ukraine call.
Taking it off T-Net would involve systems specialists, according to the individuals, who were not authorized to discuss the systems publicly and spoke only on condition of anonymity. They would have to identify every person who accessed the document and then wipe any trace of the memcon off the T-Net server. After that, other NSC workers would have had to place the material onto the N.I.C.E. system, which is physically housed in the NSC intelligence directorate.
According to one of the individuals familiar with the White House classified computer systems, Eisenberg couldn’t have actually moved it to N.I.C.E. by himself. That raises a question, the individual said, as to what reasons were given for needing it to be moved.

Don’t be surprised if his plan (or Putin’s plan as implemented by Trump) was to get Ukraine to gin up false 2016 influence stories, validating Trump’s win in 2016, make up dirt on Biden, allowing Trump to destroy his most likely 2020 opponent, and then, using Ukrainian “interference in 2016 and corruption” as an excuse, deny the military aid to Ukraine, handing Putin a double win.

The status quo isn’t very good. But the status quo ante wasn’t exactly an ideal situation either. Which is why deinstitutionalization started before Reagan was governor.
I think there’s a chance to make things better, if only because the general public understands mental illness now better than before and the stigma associated with it is slipping away. But I’ve no idea what the answer is.

He has complete consciousness of guilt. In an earlier thread I noted that I was listening to Lawfare’s “The Report” (and I incorrectly said it was the last; there’s one more to come to sum up). In all the stuff about Cohen it’s clear that Trump has learned over the decades to do everything possible to leave as little direct evidence as possible. An easy example is how he had Cohen take out a homeowner-backed loan to pay Stormy Daniels and then compensated him later. But even the call that Cohen recorded they were basically speaking in mob code. I think Trump thought it would end with the WB and that he could intimidate others to not corroborate.

If Trump gets impeached and removed from office, Pence takes his place. There would be absolutely no overturning of the will of the voters from 2016. They voted for Trump-Pence, Trump shat the bed and got the boot, so Pence takes over.
That’s part of why I think it’s a mistake to try to take Pence down with Trump — that’s just getting way too greedy. Let the GOP be the first to try a double impeachment of POTUS and VPOTUS in a corrupt attempt to install their Speaker of the House as President.
Instead, document Pence’s involvement in Trump’s corruption as much as possible and have him face the voters in 2020 without Trump’s shit-charisma to save him.

I don’t think I’ve been on his list.
I get emails from Harris, Pete, Biden, Amy.
Is Warren the clear front runner now, or that just Iowa?
I think she’s led some NH polls. Liz’s problem remains SC. Part of the reason why Biden still remains on top is that he’s the choice of minority voters and as much as I like Liz, I understand why completely.
re: #121 DangerMan (misuser of the sarc tag)
each move more bizarre and desperate than the last
so far none of their efforts to discredit the probe seem to have stuck or even remained consistent. Meanwhile Trump’s attacks on the inquiry have drawn more attention to proceedings and the evidence against him.
No one’s attacking (even addressing) the facts, substance, evidence, etc. No one.

If Trump gets impeached and removed from office, Pence takes his place. There would be absolutely no overturning of the will of the voters from 2016. They voted for Trump-Pence, Trump shat the bed and got the boot, so Pence takes over.

this is the same argument, with one degree of separation of why impeach in the first place - ie dont all those ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ have to be accounted for…what will the next president do, rule of law, etc.
- we all know how deep the rot goes. everybody does.
- we all know it’s an R senate and conviction is not likely (yet)
- and we all know that whatever the articles of the trump impeachment, they will have to stand for all the corruption of the entire administration addressed and not

Colbert in this interview says he thinks Trump may not have even realized there was anything wrong with withholding aid from Ukraine, but he’s being way too generous. It’s clear from everything these guys did that they all knew this was a big problem, and they did everything possible to conceal it.
Trump “doesn’t realize” something he wants done is wrong the exact same way a Mafia Don doesn’t realize ordering someone to “disappear” is wrong. We are talking about someone used to ordering and conducting actions outside the law for so long, he doesn’t realize they are even against the law. He has no use for the law, or for any sort of semblance of ethics for that matter.

In this particular case, it’s reasonably clear that Pence is much less corrupt than Trump (this isn’t saying much, of course, since 99.9999+% of the world is much less corrupt than Trump, even among other Republicans).
Assuming that Pence is stained by the Trump mess, an absolutely unswerving commitment to justice would see a double impeachment attempt vs. both Trump and Pence. This would be a disaster — it wouldn’t even get out of the House.
By only going after Trump, some purity of justice is sacrificed, but the nonzero chance of Trump’s removal or of GOP senators paying a price to endorse his crimes is worth it, IMO.

You’re better off, believe me. The only reason I know who he is is because he has been a fixture at events in my state since fall of 2017, when he spoke at our county fundraising dinner. He and I took an instant dislike to one another (and it’s been downhill since then.) For some odd reason, when he comes to a state event/convention, he does a display of doughnuts—yeah, I don’t get it either.
